PD: Ron Clark

If you haven't heard of Ron Clark, what rock are you hiding under? Haha

I went to a Conference Tuesday and Wednesday and he was the Keynote on Tuesday. [FYI Texas people, it is open to anyone, and it was amazing. I definitely recommend it for next year! I heard about it just before it happened]

It was the first time I had ever seen him present and I was TINGLING. He has such passion and energy for teaching, it's amazing. He's hilarious, bouncy, and a goof. I may have a crush lol.

I scoped about his session and a few people mentioned they'd be interested in my notes, so here you go! If you need any clarification, let me know, but I tried my best :)

Awesome background by Lindsey

There are 4 types of people moving the bus – the bus is a representation of our goals
1.Runners – they have immense passion and go above and beyond – don’t do it for recognition – focused on “How can I make this school better?” They do things because they need to be done.
2.Joggers – Want a little bit more attention and think they’re runners.
3.Walkers – Want people to slow down – slow down the others a little bit. Negative influence at times.
4.Riders – they pick up their feet and are the dead weight. These do enough to not get fired.

Don’t be a sponge for negativity – it’ll lead to you not being able to be a runner because you’ll be weighed down by it - instead be positive because that in turn will lead others around you to be positive

In RCA, there’s an awesome slide in the school and stairs too. Old veteran teacher came to visit (cane and all) and wanted to go on the slide. She said she wished she had done more of that while she was in the classroom. We still have that chance – she doesn’t – but you do.

I hope that helped or inspired you in some way.
