MATH letters

I bought the wooden letters at Hobby Lobby along with the most gorgeous scrapbook paper (called Sabado Domingo) and I instantly became obsessed with the colors.

Super simple - trace, glue, trim, mod podge :D It was a process longer than I'd like and I had bubbles (as always - I SUCK at mod podging haha) but I think the end result looks decent. What do you think?

I bought some material with very similar colors so I can't wait to redo one of my bulletin boards with it!

Box + Label

I am trying to incorporate a little more flexible seating, so I bought 30 clipboards and numbered them because I will have 5 classes, and each kid has a number). I didn't have a box, but I was checking out at Target and saw the box the notebooks come in and they let me have it.

I wrapped the box in wrapping paper (after looking up a video on how to do it neatly). The wrapping paper is white with thin gold stripes (same as my desk last year) but the picture looks distorted, sorry about that. I then made a label for them on either side (laminated and glued on the box) and voila!

Another quote/image for my class! I have been adoring everything watercolor lately and I saw this quote on a board and Francesca's and I knew I wanted it in my class (except not for $14) so I whipped this up in PowerPoint. I wish I could print it on canvas or paint and letter it myself, but alas I ain't that crafty. So a print will have to do ;)

I can't wait to see everyone else's creations!

A quick one today. I've been catching up on reading and just finished Wonder, a lovely book. I read quite a few precepts/quotes inside, but this one is my favorite. I plan on making a kindness bulletin board and want to add this to it. 

As usual, Megan at I Teach, What's Your Superpower, continues to provide the BEST graphics :) This might be plastered everywhere in my class this year ;)

If you saw my instagram, I had a 'fail' (IMO!) about my gold foil print from this tutorial.  I guess it's because of the cardstock? I tried it on regular paper and it wasn't too bad. It could be the laminator, it could be the gold foil, lots of reasons.

I made 2 teacher toolboxes for friends of mine! I actually LOVE how they turned out. I used the black/red template from Lovin' Lit. She has a pirate theme going on. I used my old one for her, and used leopard duck tape because she's a wild one ;)

 I left some blank for her to fill in as necessary :)

I LOVE how the back ended up looking even if it was a mistake *facepalm* Basically I printed a paper with the name and clip art at the bottom. I printed it Poster (through Adobe) and it printed on 4 sheets, but the size was too big for the clip art. Just enough for the names though! SO I taped it to cardstock. My conundrum? Too big for my laminator. 

My solution? Two lamination sheets, open ends touching (I overlapped on the back just a little and taped it down so it would feed through properly) and then let it go through. It worked! Yay!

Here's the other one I made. All me this time and I'm quite proud of how it turned out! I used this gorgeous metallic black spray paint (originally gray) and I hate how I spray paint (so many splotches), whatever though. I used dimensions from Create.Teach.Share :)

School starting soon *bites nails* I saw my classroom for the first time today and maaaaaan. It'll be a challenge!

MMI: birthdays, mug, and folders

Hello, hello! First, how awesome is this new blog?! Second, linking up with Tara for Monday Made It! School is coming close and I'm terrified.

I made a birthday board inspired by the Chalkboard Brights at Teacher Created Resources. This was COMPLETELY inspired by Teaching Superpower's Adelaide Set. So many heart eyes for her digital papers etc. I'll post a final pic once it's printed, laminated, and in my classroom!

I absolutely ADORE Learning in Wonderland and her creations. I bought her Binder Covers and instead of binders, used contact paper to seal it onto folders. FYI clear Contact Paper is my new favorite thing :)

It was Harry Potter's Birthday on Friday and I got inspired by Michael's to make a mug. I ADORE it. Sharpies, oven, and some clear spray paint and voila. I don't know yet if I'm just going to use it as decor or drink out of it haha.

MMI: meal plan schedule + toolbox

First up is my weekly meal plan schedule. I need to get back in the groove of eating healthy so hopefully this helps. Simple but useful. 

The next made it is my Toolbox! Bought it from Ace and it's gray which is my new fave color at the moment. I was going to spray paint it black, but it ties in with my next made it, so left it :) I'm contemplating buying these labels from One Fab Teacher because they are just TOO CUTE. But using clear contact paper from Dollar Tree, attached these labels to the side as a reminder for me and the kiddos :) [Added a placemat to the back of the toolbox where it's open. Trimmed a little, but it's the perfect fit!]

Last made it. I saw this set by Math in the Middle and admired it. Except most of the vocab wouldn't work for my kiddos, so made this. Adore the color combo and can't wait to hang in my class :)

Well there you go, my made it's! A bonus one [e-mail me if you're interested]. I adore the CRAP out of Supernatural and Jared Padalecki said this beautiful quote. So whipped up a poster for it and going to put in my class! [notice the gray, black, and rainbow]

MMI: mason jar organizer for desk

Hey y'all. Linking up as usual with Tara for Monday Made It :) Only one but it's a process haha

Mason Jar Organizer 

Items Needed: Mason jars Pain Acrylic picture frame Scrapbook Paper Mod Podge Glitter Double Sided Tape Labels Chalk Markers Mod Podge Sealer Steps: Take paint and pour into jar - a generous amount - and roll gently to get it everywhere. (Here is a video about how to do it). Then lay it upside down to dry and get all the way to the bottom. You have to move it a few times because the paint will drip down.

Clearly this was a fail.

To get glitter on there, brush on some mod podge at the bottom and sprinkle glitter on. Seal with some mod podge sealing spray.

Next I had some labels from Michael's that I wrote on with chalk markers (bought them from Amazon or Ebay I think)

For my tray, just bought an acrylic picture frame from Michael's and stuck some scrapbook paper on the bottom.

Voila, you're done :)

These Mondays make me a little more productive, plus I LOVE seeing what other people come up with. I suck at commenting but I will make it a POINT this week to comment on everybody's! Even if it takes all week haha.

I made a DIY band that would keep me on my page in my new planner (Target!)

Anyway, I saw this on A Modern Teacher's blog and thought it was ingeneous! I had the stretchy band (I like wearing them with my scarves, but this one was a little TOO tight so yay other uses) and I bought a three pack of burlap/lace flowers from Michael's :) All you need beyond that? Hot glue.  Super simple and super cute! 

I read this quote in Teach Like a Pirate and knew I needed it in my class!

Can I just say I am OBSESSED with the font Sweet Pea now? So cute <3

Monday Made It: Ramadan Party

Last week, I had a 'dinner party' at my house for the first time with a bunch of my friends. It was intimate and fun. But the type of person I am wouldn't let me just have food - no we had to have decorations and party favors.
So I linked up with Tara for Monday Made It to show off what I did :D

This was the room. The hanging this on the left? Made with black cardstock, gold/white coasters from the dollar store, hot glue, and fishing line

My favorite that I posted on IG, gold tipped feathers [take feathers and spray paint the tips with gold] :D Tied with gold/white twine. SO CUTE.

 The table: glitter banner, gold tulle and black cardstock, and sewn banner. And the gold/black thing to hold the dates for breaking the fast [glass spray painted with gold and then glued to a black plate]

The party favors. The gold wouldn't show up so colored black first then wrote over it in gold sharpie. A cookie, a quran bookmark, and a reminder to pray (thank goodness for all you people that created digital papers and frames). A nasheed CD [islamic 'songs'] was also part of the favor. The favor was a simple lunch bag with a white doily folded on top.

It was a good party, I think! People did comment on awesome decor so yay? :D
